i get so restless without talking to you for a day. i'd like to think you would feel the same way too.

the festival i didnt know about

The Mooi Weer Spelen was held 2 weeks ago in Delft. I happened to chance upon it as I was just doing my weekly visit to the market. Truthfully I didn't even know it was a festival till I got home. How was I to know when all the promotional posters are in Dutch?! Nonetheless there were many interesting sights and sounds. I think this is one of the plus points of Delft, Saturdays are always fun with activities =)

They made a maze using milk crates through a little lane, forcing people to snake through it. I thought it was pretty cute, until I had to go through them the 3rd time. You've always got to have quirky costumed musicians during a festival!

This was a giant kaleidoscope going up to my chest. Would've looked more psychedelic if I had mushrooms before sticking my head in.

hugs for everyone

i've got tons to go around

don't we all need one sometimes?

Recently I've had lots of friends going through rough times and it bothers me how powerless I am to help them. All i can offer right now are hugs. I've got tons of them to go around.

5 good things:
1) discovering new vegetables (gosh sounds so domesticated but it brings me joy!)
2) 1 more week of suffering till final submissions
3) skype - LDRs wouldn't happen without you
4) friends getting promoted in their careers
5) weekly meeting with the furry dog with the cute hairclip

pre-presentation week

pre-presentation week

i would wake up with my hand still on the mouse and drool on the table.

2 years ago this would've happened to me every single morning a week before finals. Right now, that whole week would be compressed into a day before. It sounds as if the years in architecture school have made me more efficient or better at time management. Hardly. I've just gotten much lazier and less egoistic on producing the best i could. Seeing the sunrise with birds chirping and fresh morning air did make me nostalgic tho.

so the opening ceremony in for the world cup in south africa is this friday. i've never been a big fan of football (or soccer), most of the time i'd fallen asleep by half time. but i'm pretty excited this year, just because i'd be cheering for my favourite team in their own country! i was expecting Delft to be more hyped up for the event, but except for the occasional orange banners on some houses and orange coloured confectionery in supermarkets, i'd say the atmosphere is pretty mediocre right now. 'hup holland hup' is their cheer meaning 'go holland go!', and the hup is derived from 'hip hip hooray'. catchy isint it?

so little we are

so little we are

it was beyond fantastic. a place of so much history and importance that shaped our world today was just overwhelming. not forgetting the charming italian men.
